Write about your XS650.: update: metalhead’s xs650 brat build, finally got a tank, gonna need work, but it’s usable. mid-controls done, fender, shocks mounted, new wheels, coil mounted in the tunnel of the tank, battery mounted under the swingarm,  still alot of work to be done, but it’s getting there. still only have $50 in this bike so far :) noid 0701091441 00 1024x768 update: metalheads brat build (the ol ladys bike)

Looking great! Tell me about the foot controls. How’d you mount them?

one of my XS’s came with a set of TC Bros rearsets. I used the pegs and levers from them, and made my own mounting brackets. they just bolt right to the frame.

it’s a wassel copy. They’re all over ebay. REALLY small tank, but I think it fits the bike well.

    Hey,
Your ol’ ladies bike is rad! I’ve got one for my girlfriend and I can cut about 4″ off the seat… but I GOTTA get lower shocks for the rear. Neither one of us is very tall and I’ve lowered every bike I ever rode, now its her turn! If you have any info that could help me it would mean for a better summer! Her riding on the back of mine was fine for like a decade… but now it just hurts my back :)

if you’re not going to cut the frame, you could use shocks off a honda Rebel, that’ll lower it a bunch.

BTW THIS BIKE IS FOR SALE, exactly as it sits in the second pic, minus the tank. I swiped it for my new daily ride. (old lady left me, so why not, lol)
