77 xs springer

 77 xs springer

Write about your XS650.: Bought a 77 for $200 and used the cradle part of the frame and motor.  Completely re-did the motor and built the back part of the frame.  Got ahold of a springer front end from 1970 and cut about 2 ft off of it so i could keep the same rake.  Then i just kept building from that.  I built it in one summer whenever i wasn’t at work.  Grand total of $700 because i did all the paint myself at my dads body shop.

springer is cool! Would love to see a big 23″ wheel up front, that would be awesome.

Man I love what you’v done with this build, Springer looks Shit Hot (thats Aussie for awsom). I like the mod to the right side crank case cover, I assume that is to allow easy access to the clutch, I’ve never seen that done before “nice one”.
I miss my old XS’s I had 3 all up in my younger days, a TX rat, an original XS2 and a TX A that I cafe’d, never paid more than $700 for the original bikes but spent over $4000 on the last one.
Currently got a 1958 Triumph Thunderbird Im building/moding as a reliable every day ride, electronic ignition, belt primary, in line oil filter, improved engine breathing and some other minor mods. If it turns out half as nice as your XS I’ll be pleased.

Hows that Springer ride? I have a DNA on one of my bikes and hate it will NEVER use one again. Wonder if a early model quality made one rides better
