1980 xs650 “Salt Shaker”

Write about your XS650.: Hey Ted. I wanted to send in some new pics of my project. I put on a Firestone rear and an Avon front. Made the faux oil bag for the elecs and that is where it’s name came from. My wife said it looked like I was making a salt shaker! lol.

I also included a shot of the tank I am working on for it. These things are never done…always changing…a hardtail will be next. Jay

hey man, nice bike,
im not one for mags, but dam man your bike sure pulls it off
amd good luck with the tank… itslookin’ good
Looking good, what handlebars do you have? Are they1″?
Keep the pics coming when you hardtail it.
I like it with the shocks and yama tank
Looks better to me with the mustang tank!
Xses are so slim, there is no place for fuel canisters allowing to ride more than 100 miles without stop.
The Firestone rear and an Avon front definitely give it a bit more style. I dig the mustang tank two. You could paint it the same champagne red.
I dig! Always have! Your bike inspired me! That’s way I I did mine! Thaxs!
Love the bike. Did you have to modify the swingarm to get this rear tire on the bike? I have a 73 and it doesn’t have much room at all for a bigger tire. Thxs.
hey i was wondering if you could tell me where to pick up tires like that? tracewilliamson@gmail.com any help would be greatly appreciated.
Gotta love it.Very nice.
what size is the rear Firestone? did you have to mod the swingarm?
