1980 xs650 “Salt Shaker”

Write about your XS650.: Hey Ted.   I wanted to send in some new pics of my project.  I put on a Firestone rear and an Avon front.  Made the faux oil bag for the elecs and that is where it’s name came from.  My wife said it looked like I was making a salt shaker! lol.

I also included a shot of the tank I am working on for it.  These things are never done…always changing…a hardtail will be next.  Jay

Looks better to me with the mustang tank!
Xses are so slim, there is no place for fuel canisters allowing to ride more than 100 miles without stop. ;)

The Firestone rear and an Avon front definitely give it a bit more style. I dig the mustang tank two. You could paint it the same champagne red.

Love the bike. Did you have to modify the swingarm to get this rear tire on the bike? I have a 73 and it doesn’t have much room at all for a bigger tire. Thxs.
