MigBaron Kustoms (120 Beers)

noid pic 1 MigBaron Kustoms (120 Beers)

120 beers!…………………yup this  one came together a little faster than the last build.

They say dogs sometimes have a way of resembling their masters or vise of versa. I think the same goes for custom built scooters. Sometimes  you can look at a bike and almost get a mental picture of what the owner is going to look like. So since the owner of this bike wasn’t around for pics I’ll tell you a little story about  him and let you guys tell me if the bike fits. So it’s 4th of July at MigBaron Kustoms (aka two car overstuffed garage) and it’s a block party all the neighbors have their BBQ’s out in the front yard and are cooking their best stuff.

noid pic 3 MigBaron Kustoms (120 Beers)

Friends and relatives are over so the street is filled with kids. We decide to bring out these “Big Wheel  Chopper Trikes” we build for fun(5.5 hp go kart trikes…55 mph plus on three wheels, 2 inches off the ground, good times!) and  give the kids rides up and down the street. Time flys like it tends too when your having a good  time-(or drunk) and before you know it ….it’s five o’clock in the morning, all but the very drunk and very bored are left in the street. So we talk Jared (the owner of this bike) who is standing there holding a beer, …………sporting a handle bar moustache, board shorts, a Hawaiian shirt, and Harley biker boots, to jump on one of the trike’s ……………which he does no question asked, full throttle into the early morning darkness!

noid pic 4 MigBaron Kustoms (120 Beers)

Then quickly flips it over about a hundred  yards down the street (physics and gravity will allays win). So picture three dudes (Rob, Jared and myself) drunk, laughing our asses off at five o’ clock  in the morning on my front porch trying to put hydrogen peroxide on his scraped up ass, through a soft ball size hole in he’s shorts , while he keeps yelling “That’s bullshit! I’m a biker now!!!”. Ah good times!!!………..You can still see the 20 scar on my street and several more all over he’s body………….. That’s the kind of guy you would picture getting off this bike wouldn’t you?

noid pic 5 MigBaron Kustoms (120 Beers)

Hence the Jesus taillight! Some guys need all the protection they can get!!!!!
This here build like, the last was also an Owner/Builder collaboration. Some of the things you may not be able to see in the pics, are a (Mikes XS 750 big bore kit), (Green Monster” Pamco High Output Electronic Ignition Kit), and a set of (Dellorto 36” mm pumper Carbs).

noid pic 2 680x1024 MigBaron Kustoms (120 Beers)

We are also dialing in some finishing touches like cutting the front end and possibly some color on the tank?
Like always, Keep building and posting those bad ass bikes guys, and Stay tuned for more bikes from MigBaron Kustoms your friendly neighborhood chop shop………………………….. hope you guys like them.

Hey 8-ball, Yup, Im the long haired grease monkey that bought it from your Buddy Chris. You guys did a kick ass job on it! That bike is what opened my eyes to what xs’s could be. It’s my baby!…. I finish the little bit of fabbing that was left and I’m a new coil away from getting it running? Been working on other Yamahas so been a little short on time. Do you know if Chris rebuilt the top end? Big props to Chris over at Four Aces (triumph!) Pacoima CA. I’ll be posting some pictures of it on here when it’s done.

How did you do the frame finish (or maybe the lack there of)? also i gotta dig the white rims and the knoby tire. I can see this bike hoping the curb cutting everyone off and still not give a dang… But as all your bike have been so far, awsome it what xs are suppose to be unique.

Nice scoot, looks really badass with its selfmade frame and this “paint” on it

Jesus taillight maybe protects the owner, but with the 750kit the Dellortos and Pamco ignition it should have a little more power than the average XS. So tell Jared no longer to wear shorts while riding his bike, hehe

And for the asshats – at least he could ride this handlebars with handcuffs on!

    “Let’s do it”
I’m personally building a XS with Mr. Mig right now and it’s coming along pretty sweet! Were banging this one out!

    B. Mell ………. the finish is a stain that is applied to the raw frame with a brush. What it’s supposed to do is replicate a rust effect chemically . These stains come in difrent finishes also, . The amount of product put on and dry time, effect the final look ……….. The product name is “Jax” Antique Rust.

V Brigs………The owner picked up the grips at a local Bike Swapmeet. (Long Beach Toppings)

Mike – I’m glad you like the frame, I’ll pass on the compliment to Jared the (owner ) and Garet the (owners freind, who welded up the hard tail) The bike is the brain child of the owner Jared. I think he made an awsome choice on the parts used on this build, and he’s bike looks very cool because of it!

Ted – We were having issues with getting spark, (turned out to be an easy fix) took the bike for a spin yesterday and the combination of the Dellorto 36” carbs, the big bore kit and the Green Monster Coil,……… makes this bike a rocket! A blast to ride!, Dellorto Carbs-smooth idle right out of the box.

I build bikes out of Boise, mostly xs but everyonce inawhile i get some different shit, but it seems we have a similar taste in rides. Like the bike, got a real hard look to her.

Hey there Mike, thanks for the interest….This here build was an owner /builder collaboration meaning the owner was full hands on, and has become a close and valuable friend of the garage. On this bike the hard tail was welded up by one of the owner’s friends “Garret” who did a great job, the rest of the build was done in-house “owner included”. Any client that has a vision for their bike , but lack either experience and or the tools to make their vision happen are welcomed to swing by with their bikes, parts and ideas and do some wrenching with me and the guys (p.s. garage rules……. (1.) replace the beers you drink and (2.) everyone present is required to take a shot of tequila upon the maiden voyage of any bike that rolls out of the garage……tradition) and to those guys that have e-mailed me, asking if they can swing by and hang out, I’ll be giving you guys a call the next time we are wrenching for sure.
So drop me a line anytime or visit my website or just swing by and hang out, at any given time I’ve got 3 to 10 people just hanging out in the garage , drinking, throwing out ideas and talking shop ….. and thanks again for the interest Mike. It’s guys like you and sites like this one that allow guys like me to make a hobby more than a hobby, as I find myself with a growing wait list, and a total of six! “XS650’s” sitting at my house waiting to get chopped, so like always stay tuned for more bikes from “MigBaron Kustoms” and keep choppin and posting those bad ass bikes guys, and remember here at your friendly neighborhood chop shop …………..you never fly “SOLO” and your cycle will never be too “SLOW” ……….. stay cool guys!
Wanted to make a special note to my Partner in crime ” Rob” ….thanks for all your help bro!

Old No.7 … And with Mig’s genius behind the gun & the build it will one nice Bobber! Get sick with it!

P.S. Can’t wait for the maiden voyage and the traditional tequila shot that comes along with it!
Oh and with carbs I have on this bike. It will be anything but “Slow” and you know me Mr, Mig I never fly “SOLO”….
