78 xs650 chop in progress part 2

Well her she is . My 78 xs650. Recently I replaced both tires,bars ,and headlight. I also stripped the gas tank so now its bare metal. All that is left is to fix the pipes because they hit the back of my leg, make a taillight and plate bracket and figure out what the hell I want to do with the rear fender.I think i might even put the seat back about 1 inch or 2.

    Yup, you’re gonna want to move your seat back. I can see that it’s a TC bros. rear like mine. I moved the seat crossmember back as well. I,m using small block chevy valve springs for the seat. Was gonna use cchopper shox, but I just don’t like the look. Way more support and less squishy. I hope you can get those pipes to work. They look cool. Keep it up.

    i got this same bike all original with only 1600 miles and seen a couple of these made into a bobber like yours. how did u figured out to make hard tail out of frame? if knew how to do this i could get started on own project. i would never believe u could turn the bike i have into this! nice work.
