Gerrit’s XS Addiction
- 6

Write about your XS650.: Hi everybody, my name is Gerrit and i am from Germany. From time to time I have to “build” a motorcycle. This one i made for my former Girlfriend. I got this one in bits and pieces. It used to be a Custom Bike from the 80´s so it had a long Front end with no Rake and was all painted in pink, must have looked disgusting.

I used a Zündapp tank which had to be modified to fit, changed the rear and used a Harley Fender. I installed a kind of Magneto so now it is possible to ride without Batteries. It is my first XS 650 and it is a lot of Fun to ride.

Thanks Gerrit

nice bike love the tank. thinking about running magneto on my bike but not sure yet might just save that for another build
Bike looks awesome I really dig it. Any more info on the magneto system? Im looking to get rid of my battery as well, or at least run a little one I can hide. Help me out!
The Zündapp tank is really really cool. It fits the XS well.
@ Mister “magneto system?” you can just use the magneto from a banshee. I’m running a magneto setup. It works well.

You can get the parts you need from http://www.electrosport.com/
TED, U SAID THAT ONE CAN GET RID OF THE BATTERY ALL TOGETHER IF DESIRED BUT IN THE ALTERNATIVE ALT. ARTICLE YOU SAID “the RED wire connecting to the Battery +ve and the GREEN wire connecting to the battery -ve.” SO OBVIOUSLY WE CANT HOOK THESE WIRES UP IF WE DECIDE TO RID THE BIKE IF THE BATTERY!!!
Gerrit, if you are still around… where did you get the seat and handlebar end lights? And how did you mount the seat? Is it lowered?
I like the rear fender.
