I bought my xs650 while stationed at NAS Glenview IL in 1983… I paid $600 and I basically put it in storage until 1999. I had a carb problem that had me chasing my tail for 10 years.

Downward spiral The bike was a ’74TX650A originally with a ’78 XS650 Special engine. It’s style was “updated” some time in the ’80′s which began it’s downward spiral. I messed around a bunch with the engine the first year setting it all back to spec.

Write about your XS650.: It is a 79 XS650 Built by me and some friends in winston salem i made the frame and streched it 17 in over stock. I made a lot of custom parts to many to name but I ride the piss out of it and thats all that maters.

I started out with my first build this winter. I have never built anything like this and wanted to see if I could do it. And to my surprise and some persistence I did it.
