Here’s proof anyone with a desire to build a nice bike with a small wallet can obtain thier goal! I bought this ’81 xs650 for $300.00,and since then have invested only in used parts (Ebay!) Named the bike “Alycat” after my wife, Aly.

I like the bike because it shows that you can do a budget build. The small gas tank is a huge different. It looks almost like noe-noe’s bike (on this blog) except he still has the shocks on his. He also has a smaller gas tank which makes a huge difference I think.

Do any of you guys have any advice/ tips? I looking to build a bike just like this (different color combo) but and strapped for cash, don’t know anything about motorcycle, and don’t have motorcycle friends who could help me out with knowledge, work/ fabrication, or parts.

Also, has anyone ever had any title/ inspection issues with the DMV?

    Thanks!
