I blame all of you for it….

Write about your XS650.: Hey guys, here are some pics of my first chop. I bought this 78 xs650 3 years ago and have been watching this site for ideas. Finally ordered a g&l 200 tail and chopped her up last night.

My thought was to recycle some other parts like the wheel brake and sprocket off a zx1000, but here is my issue hopefully you guys can help with a solution. The factory hub and sprocket push the wheel way off center. This hub just slides into the wheel (doesn’t both to anything), was thinking to just mill the hub bracket down to bring it back in line… Any other ideas out there?
Again thanks for all the inspiration over the years. i hope to be ridin soon. Greg

i dont get it? got any more pics?
tank looks alittle long, but have to see it with the hardtail welded on i guess
post more pics
Do you have the stock zx hub? rebelgears.com can make you a rear sprocket to match the zx hub and still keep the 34T count.
Nice tank, but to big for the stck backbone
i got a similar tank on my 78 had to work to get the petcock off the engine looks great though well worth the headache
seems like its going to look great when its done!! keep up the good work, and sorry i have no idea about the rear wheel
Thanks for the comments guys, i think i have the rear wheel figured out, we are going to pull out the studs and replace with a flat head bolt, this should let me pull the wheel back to center, lets just hope the chain lines up!
I’m waiting on ardcore to get more offset sprockets in stock…
As for the tank, its going to sit high on the backbone, so it shouldn’t overhang too much past the backbone, also we are going to make a seat pan that builds up to the tank, so there wont be a weird gap.
Thanks again guys, i will post more pics once shes together.
how about an springer?
yes …the springer just feet so well . visualice
smooth
looking good thinking about running a 200 rear tire as well
Hows the bike coming along? any new pics/
at the moment i am trying the same thing…which is to put a 190 tire on the rigid…you may need a jack shaft….my off set is 1 1/2 inches. get the front sprocket from your zx1000 and the rear sprocket from the xs650 …tie them together under the seat with the correct alignment.
