The Purple Microdot
- 28
“cut-weld”, “cut-weld”, “throw away” and “start over”
The bike took around 8 months to complete. It was built by longtime Indy bike builder Forrest ”Whitey” Whitis, and myself. The motor and front end are 82 and the rest is all fabricated by Forrest. There are hours alone just spent on the forward controls and exhaust pipes, “cut-weld”, “cut-weld”, “throw away”, and “start over”. You know how it is, but after it was finished it was well worth all the time we spent on it.

Everything works perfect, sounds awesome, and rides beautiful. The paint was mixed by me and another good friend Rick Weaver. People say, It looks like 70′s Mopar color (Plumb Crazy). But “no” it is another 70′s color “Microdot Purple”.

Tech Stuff:
- 82 motor and front end
- Harley Wheels and Tires
- Harley master cylinder
- Ninja Front Caliper for rear brake
- Old Harley ribbed rear fender “bobbed”
- Old Stingray Sissy Bar for fender brace
- Model “A” tail light
- Old Wisconsin Motor’s gas tank used for a dummy oil tank

Thank you for everything
Bob Wilson

I don’t have a site tecno stupid sorry
Hey Bob, Nice ride you have built there. I have to agree with El Gaucho, just the right amount of rake, likin’ the gas tank aswell. Man you have the backyard thing happenin’ too don’t you.
How come someone else can use my name here? no username protection?
Your username is attached to your e-mail and IP address. So there is “user protection” however, there can be multiple usernames as well. If you like next time you leave a comment change your username to Dennis-” something” and you’d be set up with a unique name no one else would use. I have tried to make it as easy as possible for people to leave a comment without having to jump through a bunch steps.
@Ted – OK, that’s cool. I was just a lil surprised.
As for the bike, Bob you did a great job, looks fantastic! Can you give the specs on the front end? Love the stance.
