Seriously, Ray, you have done a great job to this point. Itsa nice setup. Is the swingarm stock? what shocks? tell us about how you reworked the back of the frame. lookin good, man!
Lookin good man! Can’t wait to see the motor and what style pipes you use. Keep us updated for sure!
Don’t you, DENNI$ , think he UPgraded the tank by putting it on a sweet xs650 build…? I sure do. Nice Bike
looks great i like the brat bikes a lot
sweet looking frame bro
Where is the hard tail?
Lovin’ the style of this bike! Keep us posted.
I also would like to know more about the shocks and swingarm. Will it hit the seat when the shocks collaspe? I like the look!
Thanks fellas for the comments. I soda blasted the motor the other day and put it back in the bike. I’m waiting to paint it until its running so the VHT flat black paint I’m using will cure properly. The frame was done with a Visual Impact Brat kit that I took a long time putting together in an effort to make it as clean as possible. The swing arm is stock and the shocks are Burly Slammers. Eventually I’m going to get a rear fender on there, I’m thinking I’ll do a real tight and narrow ribbed fender. I got all my electrical together(PMA,Pamco,Capacitor), so I hope to have this thing running tomorrow night.
Arnold – thanks for the update. I gotta say that VI brat kit just does the job. I wooda guessed the swingarm had some stretch, but my eyes are old anyway. Very nice combo, I love the lines. Which Sporty tank is that? Will look MUCH better after painting…
@fanoboss – you nailed it, I shoulda said that!
Killer scooter! The lines are perfect… But get out of my head! I’m planning on doing pretty much the same thing. What year is the sporty tank?
Where can I get me one of them invisible motors…Bitchin scoot !
@ Arnold Inc – The Brat kit plus the sportster tank and short bars is a awesome formula. Like Joel sad, The lines are perfect.. Dude, send in some pictures when you’re finished her up..
Arnold… its amazing how similar our builds are..just got my VI kit put on. question for you though.. What are those tires? I need to replace my rubber pretty bad.
bike looks great!!
i love the look and will order the VI brat kit tonight. i have mine running and sorted some wiring issues but she’s registered and insured. please keep us posted, i may need some advise shortly….thanks for sharing, great job.
love the stance of the bike. i was gonna hard tail mine, but i think i like this look better.
i too, would like some info on the tires.. looks great though!
Dude…….. I love the bike thus far and it offers me the chance to ask a question – I have a very similar frame (will share my build once I get into it) and am wondering where the fxxx I’m going to wedge a battery????
Any tips oh mighty one – much appreciated…….
Love this website and the little box of parts that grows daily without her noticing

So it’s the original frame with the visual impact kit added correct?
Yep, its a stock frame with the Visual Impact kit installed, stock stretch and rake. The tires are Shinko 712′s I believe(ordered them from Cycle Gear). No battery for me, I’m running a capacitor. I built an electrical box that is mounted under the swing arm and in front of the rear tire. Motor is in and she runs great. I need to check the timing and re jet the carbs as the plugs are white. I should have some updated pics very soon.
what kind of wheels are those? i have been trying to find some nice non mags, with no luck.. ugh
The wheels are the stock 19″ front and 18″ rear. I had them professionally powder coated.
You have inspired me to get off my duff and jump head first into my stock xs650 I just bought. I love the style and how inexpensive you are making it with a big price tag look. Congrats and keep the ideas rolling in.
Awesome build!!! Did you mitre up some angles before you put on the VI brat kit? Or did you weld it straight on to the existing tubing that you cut off of the tail section? Great work!!!
where can you get the VI Kit and what does it include. I love the lines I am building my sis a bike and I need one that she can ride for days so I wanted to keep the shocks love what your doing Thanks for the insperation.
I love the brat set up really nice stance, not to top heavy, looks bang on but, there`s something missing I can`t put my finger on it, but yet there`s something missing. I bet it runs nice an quiet though.
Can we see this thing finished?
