NARDCORE’s own

Rob  “Preacher”  grow up among Southern California’s hot rod heritage. The build inspiration came from the garage innovations of the 70s low rider scene of his home town of Oxnard, California. “I wanted to fuse that hot rod look with low dollar innovation; the Rat Rod seemed like the natural fit” The Bike began life as an 81 XS 650. Stripped, chopped down and mated with a Kansas Kustom 1.250 tube hard tail. “I like the late models. They have less noticeable wires, with the TCI in lieu of traditional points”

The Frame’s finish work, fuel tank mounts and forward controls were completed with shop space and tooling provided by Clint at Steele Kustoms. The Sportser replica tank is rubber mounted “Frisco” style. It is modestly painted with a ghost racing strip.

The aluminum electrical/battery box is also rubber mounted, with removable side cover. Designed and polished by Rob “Preacher”.  Built and welded by Outlaw 39 Machine. Rob “Preacher” custom made wiring harness with buss bar and fuse block, all hidden behind removable side cover. Using factory engine terminals and bullet connection, making every electrical unit on the bike easy to isolate, trouble shoot and repair. Stock wire wheels treated to red paint, wrapped with white walls. Ape hanger bars and a thin “potato chip” seat pan, mounted atop silicone “springs”. Makes for a low and rigid ride. The bike sparks lots of looks and conversation. Where Rob “Preacher” enjoys blowing their mind when he reveals the Yamaha make.

Staying true to the low dollar theme he jokes, “There’s about $13 in paint on it” This Build is quite impressive, in design and innovation. Still maintaining the low dollar look. Special thanks to the guys at You See Lick Machine shop, for direction and instruction.
