Mudguard (fenders if you’re not from the uk)

Nick- After building/customising a couple of bobbers for a friend I got the bug and have made/customised two for my mate and I.  The white one is Spike’s and we found it on eBay in Birmingham. So, I collected it and brought it back to Cambridge and it wasn’t too bad.  We’ve done a bit of re-styling – made the forward controls, turned up and knurled the pegs and used a 21″ dirt bike front wheel.

I made the side panels and number plate bracket, spent a while with the grinder and the welder and made the high-level shot gun pipes. The seat pan is from Fenland Choppers and was padded and covered by HideOut Leather. I got a mate to re-wire the bike and with a bit of spit and polish we think it looks pretty good!

The other one (with the un-painted tank) is mine and was born out of a Fenland Chopper frame.  I used KTM hubs laced to 18″ and 21″ rims, Harley Forks and yolks with Yamaha YZ master cylindar and caliper.

The Motor is an 840cc Halco big bore with Mikuni carbs and home-made high level pipes (there are no baffles in either bike).

Made the mid-controls, mud guard brackets and number plate holder and, after lots of swearing at it, finished it in 6 weeks for a local show.

Both bikes were really well received which was great!  Hope you like them…!!!  There’s more to come.

Started building some bikes over the winter and the white one is now finished with the other one nearly there!

The white one’s Spike’s. The frame was made by ‘Dave the Frame’.  I added the other bits and pieces – mainly made at home.  The worst bit was the 5 week wait for someone to do the paint on the tank.  Well worth doing everything in house if you can!

The unpainted one will be mine and the frame was made by Fenland Choppers – a great little shop in the middle of the fens!  Thanks Joe!

Leaving the tank unpainted along with the rear mudguard (fenders if you’re not from the uk).

Have struggled with the seats and haven’t quite got them right… yet!
