1972 Yamaha XS650 Bobber Exhaust vid

This is my 1972 Yamaha xs650 that I bought in pieces with a stock frame. The bike has been hardtailed, homemade exhaust, stock carbs, wassel tank, Ford Model A taillight, starter removed, kick start only. Basement built bike.

Thanks for watching.

Nice bike! How about a few pics of your oil tank/electric! I am starting a build and would like more info on the battery and electrical placement.

Nice clean build no frills & to the point. One suggestion get rid of those hair pin springs that have no give and put in the traditional 3″coils they will improve your ride greatly. You’ll be amazed at the difference.

Cool bike for sure. Straightforward and clean, plus bonus points for the badass background Subies.

Ha, I didn’t even realize my bike was posted up here. Thanks Ted for linking it.
Here’s a build thread if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the good words. It was a fairly fun project to build and kept me busy during the winter. I actually don’t mind those seat springs. Its surprisingly comfortable to ride despite being a hardtail.
The electrical box is a german gas mask container I got from an army navy store and shortened a bit to fit in the frame.

And thanks pickles for the subie comment. The car behind it is a turbo miata, another thing to tinker with.
